Set amongst more than 500 acres of untouched bushland, the residence offers a myriad of interweaving bush-tracks – all providing ample opportunity for bushwalkers to immerse themselves in the natural surroundings.

Teeming with spectacular bird life, the bushland surrounding the Maitraya residence is of great interest to bird watchers. There is even a bird hide to allow guests to get up close and observe the behaviour of bird species.

The region is also home to a diverse range of wildlife and includes ample opportunities for whale and dolphin watching. In addition, Two People’s Bay Nature Reserve was recently found to be home to a small colony of Noisy Scrub Birds which were previously thought to be extinct. During the season, the property comes alive with an abundance of spectacular wildflowers which only serves to add a brilliance and vibrancy to the already majestic scenery.

Scuba Diving

Albany offers scuba divers a range of captivating and exotic dive spots that are home to some of the world’s most spectacular marine life. Divers of all skill levels can experience the opportunity to accompany the migratory Whale Sharks as they make their way across the Albany Reef, swim through the depths of the purpose-sunk HMAS Perth or try and catch a glimpse of the 500+ species of marine life that are on display.

Surfing

Albany’s beaches provide plenty of surfing and bodyboarding options. Both beginners and more experienced surfers can find suitable breaks all along the coast. Close to town, Middleton beach is ideal for kids and beginners. When the swell is up and the wind is from the north, Nanarup and Muttonbird beaches are ideal for those who are more comfortable in bigger surf.

Deep Sea Fishing
